I have returned!

Internet related forms of love for me may resume as usual. :D

March 28th, 2007

Yup. That totally just happened. Sorry, couldn't resist.

First of all, can I start by saying: Damn, I suck at this journal worse than I do at my regular lj. And for that I apologize. It's been a busy semester, and a lot of times, the last thing on my mind is "OMG I NEED TO MAKE AN LJ ENTRY". Even a short one. I could at least have done you the decency of that. Be all like, yay, I'm good, I went here. Or, boo, I'm sad, blah blah blah. You have received neither news nor whining from me in quite some time, and how your little lives have done without, I know not. And to be even meaner, I'm STILL not leaving a big update now. Possibly not for the rest of the semester. But I wanted to take a few minutes to mention that:

I'll be on travel break starting tonight. The school is going to the Czech Republic until Tuesday, and then Faith and I are flying up to Sweden how jealous are you Daan? I'll say hello for you and take lots of pictures to share with you though. Hopefully that will prevent you beating me up for making it your homeland before you did. :P) until the Friday of that week.

So, if you need to come out of the closet, tell me you're really a dude instead of a lady after all these years, or have any number of interesting (or maybe not interesting) bits of information you would like to share with me, uhm, make like a five-year-old in the back of station wagon on a long road trip, and hold it. I might get some inernet access, but its highly unlikely, so if I don't respond to emails, messages, whathaveyou, it's not 'cause I hate you. Quite the contrary. I love you all.

So, seeing as how I have to go work in about 10 minutes, I'll leave you all on that note, let you know I've been thinking of each of you (yes, EACH, don't believe me if you want, but it is in fact true :D) these past few months, and that I hope you've all been having pretty good semesters that you can tell me about when I get home and see you.

Take the care!

Slainte.

It's funny. Because it's a pun. Huhuh.

Anyway, time for an update methinks. An actual, actual update.

I've also had all my classes now, but will save that for another update. I think you've got quite enough here to tide you over. :P

But the long and short of it all is? I love it here. It's absolutely awesome, and I'm endlessly glad I came. And this is just the first week! I haven't even been out of Well yet! So yeah. Grand.

Hope you all are having a lovely afternoon back West :P

Time to go read for Media Crit. Hit me with a brick. >.o

Dag!

January 21st, 2007

So Jai, Faith and I were out exploring the town tonight since we've pretty much been locked up in the Castle for orientation kinds of things. And as we're walking along we run into three Dutch guys with silly blue and silver hats. Upon seeing us,as they are turning to the side to greet people coming from the other direction, said Dutchman turn the rest of the way around and starting shouting "Hey! Welcome!" and start shaking our hands. Then they ask us to come have a beer with them. We were walking in that direction anyway, and we didn't detect anything really sketchy about them, (and also we kinda wanted to let them down easy to kindly go about their business )so we agreed to walk with them. The roofmaker (which he proceeded to tell us over and over again about five more times) was the most chatty and kinda stuck close to me, I think beause I was the only one really responding to him. His other friends jsut kind of walked on the other side of the street. So the roofmaker, did I tell you he was a roofmaker? was telling us about Carnivale that was coming up in a few weeks and apparently that's where the hats were from. One of his friends was the prince, he himself was the assistant to the prince adn the other guy was the fool. Also, he's a roofmaker, he works on the, how do you call it? Roof. Throw in some "have you been there?"s "how have you not been there?"s and "Come! Have a beer with us. I have to work tomorrow, but it's ok! I am a roofmaker"s and you've pretty much got the bulk of the conversation. We got to the bar eventually and he was still trying to get us to come in with him, but we politely told him "No, not tonight" "We have class in the morning" "Thank you anyway" etc etc. and made a fake promise to join him some other time. From what we could see on the way back (as we kept walking further down the street and then turned around) they seemed to be chatting it up with other Emerson students anyway, so they were well accompanied.

But yeah, fun times, lolz. Just wanted to get that down before I forgot. Unfortunately, due to my computer's virus scan aparently not being up to date, I can't get on to the school wi-fi, so am thus confined to the computer lab. Which isn't bad, I'm usually the only one or one of the only ones in here, it's just a little inconvenient. At least it's only for a week. And ya know, I could always have NO internet. So if I'm a little slow to reply to coments or emails or whathaveyou, time difference + limited internet access = why. I'll get to everything as soon as I can though, promise. And will give a basic summary of what I've been up to since I landed here Saturday.

Classes start tomorrow! I'm both excited and nervous. It'll be nice to be able to get out of the MC (Main Castle. Where I live. In the tower. By the way. :) More on that later too of course) for stuff other than meals and orientation. And ya know, just to finally get into what will be my routine for the next three months.

Hope you all are having a good afternoon :P

Annnnd, I'll update/do intrnetz when I can update/do internetz.
